Scripture:
Psalm 66:10-12
"For you, O God, have tested us; you have tried us as silver is tried. 11 You brought us into the net; you laid a crushing burden on our backs; 12 you let men ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water; yet you have brought us out to a place of abundance."
Observation:
- A Psalm of a Jewish believer recounting the goodness God has shown his people in the past.
- God had put his people through a lot of painful things but..
- "yet you have brought us out to a place of abundance."
- It's clear that it all had a purpose.
Application:
- Firstly, I don't know when 'yet' will come.
- It's not for me to know.
- But this is a reminder when I worry about the trials and tribulations that He is putting me through right now.
- God is doing it for a purpose, just as he did then.
- The painful doesn't endure.
- "You can't remember pain."
- It doesn't matter what's going on, God has a plan, He wants us to bless us. That's the end goal and that's what we wait for.
Prayer:
Dear heavenly father, help me to see past the temporary into the things of You. Give me the wisdom to know that You have a plan for my life that goes beyond the things that my eyes can see. Give me solace knowing that You are above it all and that a "yet-moment" is to come. In your name I pray,
Amen.
