Graduation Night 2009.
Unfortunately, it's happened again. The nostalgia train has arrived and I have unwittingly hopped on board. I feel like i should make the best out of it so i take my seat (the only seat as it turns out), kick my feet up onto the stool in front of me and await my destination. But in reality i'm more anxious about what memories scatter the landscapes of my voyage. One by one mental pictures my mind has taken dial back the weeks, months and years until suddenly, it is 2009. The past 18 months play along the windows of my carriage in such detail that i'm virtually there. The colours, the sounds, everything. But just as quickly as they came, they whisk away and i am left standing there. No more train. Seat and stool replaced with my parents as i take a picture to commemorate my graduation. And then we stand there, outside the school hall amidst all the faces that my mind has struggled to forget. Strangely nobody else is moving. If i think hard enough i know i'd be able to remember all the events of that day but instead the moment has been frozen still. I'm not bound by the same power that locks these people in place. So i explore. And as i wander through my past-life, i choke. All the words i ever wanted to say were fighting their way to my mouth. I regain my breath and try again. But i choke... Again. This time it's so bad that i pass out, and awake laying on my bed. Now more than ever i want to go back. But the train is long gone.
